Netra Tarpanam/Eye Therapy

Ayurveda Clinic in Melbourne, Truganina

Netra Tarpanam:

In Sanskrit, Netra means eyes and Tarpan means strengthening of the eyes. In this procedure, medicated ghee is slowly poured over the patients’ eyelids in a flour enclosure built around it. Netra Tarpanam is the rejuvenating treatment for eyes.  Netra Tarpana is a special Ayurvedic therapy for the eyes. This Ayurvedic treatment for eyes is carried out in combination with a face massage and is experienced by our clients as being very enjoyable, relaxing and effective. Freshly made dough rings filled with medicated oils are placed around the eyes, and medicated cow’s ghee (clarified butter) is gently poured onto the eyes while they are kept open. The herbal-treated ghee has many beneficial properties, and is put slowly over the eyes to lubricate them and the surrounding areas which are then kept warm for around 30 minutes.
